Here is my post about possibly the most tedious task in the world of makeup: washing your make up brushes...
So, to wash your brushes you will need Johnson's Baby Shampoo, a sink (duh) and a towel. But, before I explain how to wash makeup brushes, I must stress that even though the thought of washing your brushes may make you mentally groan in annoyance, it's important to make time to wash them as brushes carry bacteria and dirt that you end up putting on your face. The longer you don't wash your brushes, the more bacteria that builds up, gross right? Therefore, I try and wash my face brushes every week and I wash eyes/eyebrow brushes once or twice a month. But, I do wash my brushes more regularly if my skin is particularly spotty as I am more cautious of spreading bacteria, so keep that in mind if you're suffering a breakout. Now remember, despite it being a hassle, just think of the positive that you'll have a lovely set of brushes that are super soft and lovely to use instead of clogged up with product. Right, I've hopefully emphasised the importance of brush washing, now here's how I go about doing it:
1. Run your makeup brush under warm water making sure you point the brush downwards so water doesn't run up into the brush.
3. Swirl the makeup brush in the baby shampoo, you should see a lather being created.
5. If you still have lots of product on the brush repeat the steps above. Then swirl the brush lightly on a towel to make sure no product is left and still coming off the brush.
6. Run the brush under warm water and shape the brush back in to place.
7. Swipe the brush on a towel so it is not dripping water and wipe the handle. Now proceed to put the brush flat on a towel to dry.

Voila! Now you're done.
Please comment if there's any posts you would like to see, I would love to hear some suggestions.
But for now, happy makeup brush washing.

DeleteThis is really helpful, thank you! I've never thought of using baby shampoo, I bet that's a lot more gentle than the cleanser I'm currently using.
